Role Overview
As an E&I Construction Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing electrical and instrumentation construction activities for new facility projects in the Carlsbad, NM region. This is a field-based role requiring direct supervision of construction work, quality oversight, and adherence to strict safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- System Planning & Design: Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and interpret detailed electrical and instrumentation plans aligned with project objectives and safety requirements.
- Construction Oversight: Supervise field activities such as cable laying, equipment mounting, wiring, and QA/QC checks. Ensure timely execution and quality of installations.
- Safety & Compliance: Implement safety protocols, enforce regulatory standards (NEC, API, etc.), and verify compliance throughout construction.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside engineers, technicians, and contractors to resolve technical challenges and maintain effective project communication.
- QA/QC: Conduct quality inspections of electrical and instrumentation installations, ensuring work meets industry standards and project specifications.
Requirements
- Reside within 100 miles of Carlsbad, NM (local candidates strongly preferred).
- 5 years of Oil & Gas industry experience in electrical and instrumentation construction.
- Proven experience with electrical QA/QC in an industrial environment.
- Valid Journeyman License (State of NM) or NCCER Certification (required).
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, API, OSHA, etc.).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings; knowledge of AutoCAD/ETAP is a plus.
- Strong safety mindset, with the ability to lead by example in the field.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
