Duties
- Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment using approved sterilization techniques and equipment
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and sterilized instruments to ensure availability for procedures
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and equipment maintenance in compliance with health regulations
- Prepare surgical trays and instrument sets according to procedural requirements
- Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during handling and processing of instruments
- Assist with the organization and storage of sterile supplies in designated areas for easy access during surgeries
- Collaborate with surgical staff to ensure all instruments are ready and meet safety standards prior to procedures
Skills
- Strong knowledge of sterilization processes and sterile processing procedures
- Familiarity with inventory management systems for tracking supplies and instruments
- Solid understanding of human physiology relevant to oral surgery environments
- Ability to interpret medical terminology related to surgical procedures and instrumentation
- Expertise in aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment at all times
