Responsibilities/Duties
This position assists the Accounting Manager and CFO with general ledger accounting duties. More specifically, responsible for verifying the accuracy of the general ledger and preparing related reconciliations, making appropriate accounting adjustments to allow the company to prepare accurate financial statements and related reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs month-end closing procedures and reconciliations.
- Prepares various general ledger reconciliations and analyses.
- Prepares and posts journal entries as needed.
- Reconciles bank statements.
- Prepare and Submit Sales and Use Tax.
- Assists with Corporate Audit and Tax preparation.
- Assists in inventory reconciliation and prepares reports for physical inventory and audit.
- Daily and Weekly Cash Flow review.
- Prepares and Reviews Credit Applications.
- Oversight of credit card program (adds, deletes, downloads monthly reports).
- Prepares GL reports for the annual budget process and contributes to monthly budget analysis.
- Supports and reviews Accounts Payable work.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Working Conditions
- Indoor and Outdoor Work: Duties are performed in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Standard Office Conditions: Involves exposure to office environments with heating, air conditioning, and computer operation.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has some supervisory responsibilities, including reviewing work product and coaching.
Education, Certification, and License
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is necessary.
Specific Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of accounting experience is required.
- Strong GAAP and General Ledger accounting skills are required.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel knowledge.
- Working knowledge of landscaping or construction processes preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership, positive attitude, and proven ability to coach teammates during work product review.
- Strong aptitude for process improvement and standardization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Physical Requirements
- Mobility: Frequently stands, walks, sits, talks, and listens for extended periods.
- Physical Activity: Squats, stoops, or kneels; occasionally lifts objects up to 25 pounds.
- Reaching: Occasionally required to reach above shoulder level.
- Vision and Motor Skills: Requires vision and fine motor skills for computer use.
Job Specifications

- Work Schedule: Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility required based on workload..
- Seasonal Adjustments: Additional hours may be required to meet business needs during Year-End, Audits, etc.
