What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory II (NC) position at BRS?
Vista Defense Technologies, LLC is currently seeking an Inventory Specialist II to work in Southport, NC.
- Performs activities to monitor and maintain inventory control of conventional ammunition and explosive items.
- The Inventory Specialist II is responsible for conducting inventories, recording all receipts, movement, storage, and shipment of conventional ammunition, explosives and other ammunition and explosive related items.
- Will maintain 100% accountability of ammunition and explosive items during maintenance cycle operations.
- Verify accuracy of ammunition and explosive quantities added or removed from shipping containers.
- Verify all movement of ammunition and explosives to and from every site on installation.
- Provide support for ammunition surveillance personnel.
- Use Automated Identification Technology (AIT) to receipt ammunition and explosives and to create and scan 2-D barcode labels.
- The Inventory Specialist II position also performs the responsibility of Team Lead for the worksite.
- Coordinate with Longshoreman Stevedore and Ammo Planner for daily workload.
- This position also involves exposure to the elements such as cold weather, rain, and high temperatures during the summer months.
- Will be exposed to dirt, dust, and fumes and odors from heavy equipment used to handle ammunition pallets and containers.
- Walking, some lifting, and climbing ladders is also required for this position.
- 2 years of college or equivalent work experience
- 4 years minimum experience in ammunition/supply field (Preferred)
- Experience in inventory/accountability discipline
- Military veteran with ammunition/supply background (Preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Familiar with AIT and RFID Technologies
- Work calmly under stress
