Heavy Equipment Operator – Public Works Project
Location: Santa Maria, CA
Job Type: Full-Time | Public Works Project

Join Our Team
We are hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team for an upcoming Public Works project in Santa Maria, CA. Qualified candidates must have 2-3 years experience operating heavy construction equipment on grading, excavation, underground utility, and roadway projects. Experience with GPS machine control systems is required.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators, dozers, motor graders, loaders, rollers, backhoes, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Utilize GPS machine control systems
- Perform finish grading, trenching, excavation, and site preparation.
- Read and interpret plans, grade stakes, and project specifications.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
- Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Work closely with supervisors and field crews to maintain project schedules.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of heavy civil construction experience.
- Proven GPS experience.
- Experience on California Public Works projects preferred.
- Ability to work safely in a team environment.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.
