We are seeking an experienced Project Controls 4 professional to support complex engineering and construction projects through advanced cost engineering, planning, scheduling, forecasting, and Earned Value Management (EVMS). This senior-level role is responsible for providing technical leadership, developing project controls strategies, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience supporting large-scale capital projects and possesses expert-level knowledge of project controls principles, cost management, scheduling, and EVMS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules.
  • Perform advanced cost estimating, cost analysis, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Support and maintain Earned Value Management System (EVMS) processes and reporting.
  • Monitor project performance and identify cost and schedule variances.
  • Develop recovery plans and recommend corrective actions to project leadership.
  • Prepare project financial reports, forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze project trends and communicate risks and opportunities to management.
  • Support project planning, execution, and closeout activities.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project controls personnel.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, finance, and project management teams.
  • Ensure project controls deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Support proposal development, project startup, and strategic planning efforts.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for project controls processes, cost management, scheduling, and EVMS.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of related Project Controls experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of project controls methodologies and industry best practices.
  • Experience supporting complex engineering, construction, or capital projects.

Required Experience

Candidates should have demonstrated experience with:

  • Cost estimating and cost engineering
  • Budget development and forecasting
  • Cost control and variance analysis
  • Project planning and scheduling
  • Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Financial reporting and project performance analysis
  • Schedule development, maintenance, and progress monitoring
  • Risk identification and corrective action planning
  • Working with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams

Preferred Software Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

  • Primavera P6
  • Deltek Cobra
  • Microsoft Project
  • Microsoft Excel (Advanced)
  • EVMS software and reporting tools
  • Project financial management systems

Desired Skills

  • Expert knowledge of project controls principles and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead complex projects with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to identify project risks and develop practical solutions.
  • Experience mentoring junior project controls professionals.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and construction project execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Department of Energy (DOE), federal, or nuclear projects.
  • Previous experience serving as a Control Account Manager (CAM) is highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, EVP, PSP, or CCP are a plus.
  • Active DOE clearance or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
