Role Description The Technician role at Broward Motorsports is a full-time, on-site position based at the Hobe Sound, FL dealership. The technician is responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on a variety of powersports vehicles and bicycles, including ATVs, motorcycles, watercraft, side-by-sides, and high-performance bikes. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting units for safety and performance, completing service orders accurately, installing accessories and parts, and ensuring all work meets manufacturer and company standards. The role also involves communicating with service advisors and customers about repair needs, timelines, and proper vehicle care, while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. Technicians are expected to follow all shop procedures, use appropriate tools and equipment, and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment that supports excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with powersports vehicles (e.g., motorcycles, ATVs, watercraft, side-by-sides) and/or bicycles.
- Ability to perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs using manufacturer service manuals, technical diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of routine maintenance procedures, including fluid changes, brake service, tire mounting and balancing, chain and drivetrain adjustments, and electrical checks.
- Competence with hand tools, power tools, and specialized shop equipment, with a focus on safety and proper tool usage.
- Solid documentation and organizational skills for accurately completing work orders, service records, and parts requests.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with service advisors and explain technical issues and solutions in clear, customer-friendly terms.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based shop environment, manage time efficiently, and adapt to changing priorities.
