Client Intake and Relationship Specialist

About Us

Brotman Law is a dynamic, client-focused tax law firm based in San Diego. We help individuals and business owners resolve complex federal and state tax issues, either on the crisis side or the optimization side. Often, when someone reaches out to us, they are usually stressed, uncertain, and need someone who understands their situation with the care and attention it deserves. You are usually the first person they have spoken with, including their spouse and those close to them. Those touch points with people really matter.

Equally, this role is a relationship development seat. Our client base and network of contacts span thousands of people. We want to take the often-missed opportunities to reconnect with them, understand what has changed, and explore how we can potentially provide more value. In the process, you will help to cultivate new relationships made through connections rather than cold calling. Our business thrives on relationships, not the quantity, but the depth.

What You'll Do

• Be the first point of contact for potential clients, educating and helping them understand how we can assist

• Respond to new inquiries quickly, guide leads through intake, and make onboarding seamless

• Prepare and process retainer agreements, Powers of Attorney, and onboarding documents; manage initial payments and payment plans

• Keep our CRM (HubSpot) and case management system (Clio) accurate and current

• Make warm outreach calls to current and former clients to check in, reconnect, and surface new ways we can help

• Re-engage prospective clients who weren't ready the first time

• Build and maintain referral relationships with CPAs, attorneys, and other professional partners

• Collaborate with the marketing team to sharpen how we reach and convert the right clients

• Grow into your second and future years: a defined path toward senior sales and/or relationship management working toward a senior seat on our revenue team.

What We Are Looking For

Required:

• A background that demonstrates growth, increasing autonomy, and leadership development

• 2 years of outbound B2B sales, business development, or client-facing consultative experience

• Comfort on the phone and over email: warm, professional, and unshaken by a busy day

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in MS Office and Mac systems

Preferred:

• Sales and/or relationship development experience: experience with payroll, HR, benefits, or business services to small-business owners, along with a track record that you are proud of

• High-touch client service or hospitality experience (concierge, guest relations) focused on HNW clients and families

• Familiarity with HubSpot or legal practice management software

• Fluency in Spanish

• Familiarity with entrepreneurship, small business, or accounting
