Job Overview
One of the Hospital In Washington is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Specialist (MHS) to provide high-quality clinical mental health services. This role focuses primarily on direct patient care with minimal administrative responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, the ability to work independently, and a passion for supporting individuals across diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy
- Conduct mental health assessments and develop treatment plans
- Deliver crisis intervention and emergency mental health services
- Offer case management, referrals, and client support services
- Collaborate with healthcare teams and community partners
- Provide education and consultation services
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Work with diverse populations, including special needs groups
Education
- Master’s degree in Behavioral Science, Nursing, Social Work, or related field
Licensure (Required)
- Must hold one of the following Washington State licenses:
- LMHC
- LMFT
- LICSW
- OR MHP
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mental health treatment
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques and clinical practices
- Experience working in community mental health settings preferred
Skills
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Cultural competence and sensitivity
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with special populations (children, elderly, developmental disabilities, etc.)
- Knowledge of crisis intervention and emergency services
Additional Requirements
- Must meet WAC 246-341-0515 requirements for specialty populations
- Ability to provide both direct care and staff consultation
