Responsibilities
Assist lead window installers with the preparation and setup of job sites, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are ready for installation. Support the handling and transportation of glass panels, windows, and related materials using hand tools, power tools, and proper lifting techniques to ensure safety and efficiency. Help with the measurement, cutting, fabrication, and assembly of window frames, trim carpentry components, and other fixtures based on blueprints or schematics. Participate in the installation of windows, doors, fixtures, cabinets, and metal stud framing as directed by senior team members. Assist in caulking, sealing, and finishing work to ensure proper insulation and weatherproofing of installed windows. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly storing tools such as hand tools and power tools; assist in debris removal from job sites. Learn to read blueprints and schematics to better understand project specifications while supporting the installation process.
Experience
No prior experience required; however, familiarity with construction site activities is preferred. Basic understanding of construction estimating processes is a plus. Experience with hand tools, power tools, or carpentry enhances your ability to succeed in this role. Previous exposure to glass installation or remodeling projects is advantageous but not mandatory. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and stand for extended periods is essential. Knowledge of blueprint reading or schematics will help you quickly adapt to project requirements. A proactive attitude toward learning new skills such as fabrication, fixture installation, drywall finishing (construction painting), metal stud framing, or maintenance person tasks will set you apart.
