Commercial HVAC/R Helper (Entry Level)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, dependable Commercial HVAC/R Helper to join our team. This is an entry-level position, so no experience is required. We prefer candidates who already have some HVAC field experience or are studying HVAC. You will work alongside experienced technicians to install, maintain, and repair commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, and build the hands-on skills needed to grow into a technician role. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and split systems.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks such as changing filters and belts, cleaning coils, and clearing condensate drains.
• Load, unload, and move tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
• Help locate, organize, and track parts and supplies, and keep service vehicles stocked.
• Keep work areas, mechanical rooms, and job sites clean and organized.
• Help document completed work and keep service records up to date.
• Follow all safety procedures and local, state, and federal HVAC codes and regulations.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

• Experience: Prior HVAC, mechanical, or construction experience is preferred.
• Currently enrolled in or a graduate of an HVAC trade school or technical program (Preferred)
• EPA 608/CFC Certification (Preferred), or willingness to obtain it with company support
• High school diploma or GED
• Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Smoke-free/Nicotine-free work environment
• Must be able to pass the background check & drug test
• Eligible to work in the US
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various environments (rooftops, mechanical rooms, tight spaces, hot and cold conditions).
