What are the responsibilities and job description for the Apprenticeship Trainer position at Brose Group?
Your tasks
Oversees all Apprenticeship Programs in the North American region (Responsible for MAT2 Mechatronics Apprentices and any new programs. Support NA locations within their apprentice programs (f.e. Mechatronic apprentice program in TUS and QUA)
Ensure a standard process for all apprentice programs in accordance with the German apprenticeship programs (recruiting, program structure and content, placement of apprentices after graduation, hourly wage, etc.)
Development of training documents using various training concepts while providing training for technical apprentices (e.g. Mechatronics) according to their training plan. Prepare apprentices to successfully complete the IHK Exam and make sure apprentices are well prepared for their first full time job after the program
Development of training documents for production and maintenance employees using various training concepts while providing trainings while the apprentices are in school fully utilizing the training center.
Close cooperation and on-going benchmark with Central Apprenticeship Department in Germany (ZHR/PE-AW). Keep up to date on latest innovations about training content and equipment for apprentices. Utilize resources and support from Coburg to establish and maintain best in class apprenticeship programs.
Cooperation with department Mentors and Lead Instructors to ensure qualified training of apprentices and apprentice processes are followed in accordance with the BNA apprentice Handbook, requirements from the German American Chamber of Commerce and Department of Labor (e.g. recruiting, onboarding, training, evaluations, IHK Examinations, full time hiring after apprentice program, Graduation ceremony, Full utilization of Apprentice Center)
First contact person for external cooperation partners in regards to apprentice programs (e.g. German American Chamber of Commerce, Community Colleges, Government, Department of Labor, and external MAT2 Committees).
Responsible for Budget and Headcount planning for the Apprenticeship program at BNA, Ensure all State Grants for Apprentice programs are utilized.
Developing and conducting trainings for existing employees to upskill our workforce.
Hosting and participation in various student and employee activities/events such as Apprenticeship Week, Manufacturing Day, MI Career Quest, Career Fairs, Mock Interviews, etc.
Your Profile
3-5 years of experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics (German apprenticeship degree IHK preferred)
Profound Knowledge about the German Dual apprenticeship programs
Technical understanding about equipment
Profound knowledge about the different education system esp. for US, Germany, Canada and Mexico
Profound knowledge: Microsoft Office software package (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Customer Service, Oral Communication, Written Communication, Planning/Organizing, Dependability
SAP, Time Management Systems, Event planning
Profound knowledge: Microsoft Office software package (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
