Join Brooksource as a Software Application Developer specializing in Appian to support a major HR systems modernization initiative for federal agencies. As part of a small, collaborative Appian delivery pod, you will report to the Lead/Senior Software Developer and work closely with other developers, testers, and a business analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for hands-on developers who want meaningful build work and ownership of application modules, without the overhead of leading a team. The role is based in the DMV area with a hybrid work arrangement, requiring onsite presence as the program ramps up. U.S. citizenship and an active Public Trust or Secret clearance are required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and configure Appian applications, including process models, interfaces, and integrations
- Take ownership of specific modules within the larger application, from design through delivery
- Incorporate feedback from code reviews and continuously improve code quality with minimal supervision
- Support testing and defect resolution in collaboration with the QA team
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, and demos
- Collaborate closely with other developers, testers, and business analysts within the delivery pod
- Ensure compliance with federal security and clearance requirements throughout the development lifecycle
- Contribute to the modernization of HR systems for federal agencies, delivering steady and meaningful build work
- Bachelor's degree
- U.S. citizenship
- Active Public Trust or Secret clearance
- 3-7 years of software development experience, with hands-on Appian experience required
- Ability to build and configure Appian applications, including process models, interfaces, and integrations
- Strong ownership of application modules from design through delivery
- Ability to incorporate feedback from code reviews independently and improve code quality
- Experience supporting testing and defect resolution with QA teams
- Participation in Agile ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, and demos
- Experience with integrations, APIs, databases, and Agile delivery (preferred)
- Appian Associate or Senior Developer certification (preferred)
