ServiceNow Developer – CMDB & Discovery

Detroit, MI or Charlotte, NC (onsite 3 days per week)

W-2 Contract through 2027

We are seeking a hands-on ServiceNow Developer to support CMDB, Discovery, and related platform integrations within a mature enterprise ServiceNow environment supporting approximately 18,000 users. This role is focused on CMDB health, Discovery troubleshooting, platform enhancements, and maintaining accurate configuration data across ServiceNow. The ideal candidate has real implementation experience, understands how Discovery works behind the scenes, and has supported ServiceNow environments beyond basic administration and ticket support.

Responsibilities:

• Implement, support, and enhance ServiceNow CMDB and ServiceNow Discovery capabilities.
• Troubleshoot Discovery issues involving credentials, MID Servers, connectivity, protocols, and CI population.
• Investigate assets, servers, applications, and network devices that are not being discovered or updated correctly.
• Maintain CMDB data quality, CI relationships, and overall CMDB hygiene.
• Identify and resolve duplicate records, inaccurate relationships, orphaned CIs, and data quality issues.
• Build, support, and troubleshoot integrations that populate and maintain CMDB data.
• Support Service Graph integrations and other API-based integrations.
• Support adoption and maintenance of CSDM 5.0 standards.
• Develop and maintain ServiceNow configurations, scripts, workflows, and automation for CMDB and Discovery.
• Partner with infrastructure and application teams to ensure data flowing into the CMDB is accurate and reliable.

Requirements:

• 3-4 years of hands-on ServiceNow development and scripting experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with both ServiceNow CMDB and ServiceNow Discovery.
• Experience building and maintaining ServiceNow platform integrations.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting MID Servers used for ServiceNow Discovery.
• Basic JavaScript to troubleshoot existing code, understand Glide scripts, and write basic queries.
• Experience working within large enterprise ServiceNow environments supporting 10,000 users.
• Experience supporting production ServiceNow environments with multiple integrations and complex platform configurations.
• Ability to clearly explain personal contributions to ServiceNow projects and implementations.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience implementing CSDM, including CSDM 5.0.
• Experience with Service Graph integrations.
• Experience with Service Mapping or Application Mapping.
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
