Sr. Battery Systems Engineer

Contract-to-hire (6-12 months)

$120,000 – 140,000 (D.O.E.)

A pioneer in the next generation of mobility solutions is seeking a Senior Battery Systems Engineer to join the team creating the next generation of battery systems for automotive applications. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Translate customer requirements into system architecture across E/E, software, hardware, and mechanical teams
• Maintain requirements traceability (DOORS/JAMA/Polarion) and ensure verification through DV/PV and integration testing
• Lead root cause analysis (8D/RedX), resolve architecture issues, and enforce design reuse across programs
• Coordinate with manufacturing, suppliers, and operations to ensure designs meet production constraints
• Run prototype testing (vehicle bench), analyze data, and present results to internal teams and OEM customers

Qualifications:

• 3–8 years in systems engineering for electrical or electromechanical products (automotive context)
• 2 years working on battery systems (module, pack, or thermal) or similar high-voltage systems
• Hands-on experience with requirements tools (DOORS, JAMA, Polarion, Codebeamer) and MBSE tools (Cameo, Capella, etc.)
• Experience working with OEM or Tier 1 customers on system integration topics
• Familiarity with mechanical design (CAD fabrication methods like stamping, molding, welding) and system-level validation
