Senior IT Business Analyst (Process-Focused)

Location: Windsor, CT (preferred) or Houston, TX

Schedule: Hybrid – onsite Monday–Thursday

Overview

We are seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst who thrives in a process-driven, stakeholder-facing environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys diving deep into business workflows, facilitating requirements discussions, and producing high-quality documentation that bridges business needs with technical solutions.

This is not a project management or reporting role - we are looking for a true Business Analyst who is passionate about process modeling, requirements elicitation, and business engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering sessions and workshops with business stakeholders
• Analyze and document current and future state business processes
• Create detailed documentation including:
• Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
• User stories and acceptance criteria
• Process flows and swimlane diagrams
• Partner with technical teams to translate business needs into system solutions
• Support scope definition, business case development, and backlog refinement
• Ensure traceability between requirements and technical solutions
• Participate in testing, UAT support, and validation of deliverables
• Collaborate across business and IT teams to drive alignment and clarity

Required Qualifications

• 7 years of experience as an IT or Digital Business Analyst
• Strong experience with business process analysis and process modeling (swimlane diagrams)
• Proven ability to lead stakeholder interviews and requirements workshops
• Experience writing clear, structured documentation (BRDs, user stories, functional specs)
• Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence
• Familiarity with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Salesforce or enterprise internal systems
• Basic knowledge of SQL, data mapping, or entity relationship diagrams (ERDs)
• BA certifications such as CBAP or CCBA
• Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical teams
