Senior P6 Scheduler / Project Controls Analyst

Team: Operations Project Controls (PMO)

Duration: Long-term / Indefinite (foundational role supporting the buildout of the Primavera P6 program)

Location & Travel: Remote with regional flexibility; candidates must be based in or near Minnesota and able to travel to their office in the Twin Cities approximately once per month

Rate / Conversion Salary: 50-65 /hr (Depends on experience)

Role Overview

Our client is building out a new, enterprise-level Primavera P6 scheduling program and is seeking an experienced P6 Scheduler to help stand up and manage integrated schedules across multiple capital projects and vendors.

This is a true P6 scheduler role focused on building, maintaining, and integrating complex project schedules. Over time, the position may evolve into broader project controls support (cost controls, PM advisory), but the immediate need is deep P6 expertise.

This role sits within Operations Project Controls and works closely with Project Managers, vendors, and PMO leadership to create a consolidated view of schedule, resource loading, and execution across contracting work.

Business Objective & Impact

• Establish and manage a centralized Primavera P6 scheduling model across multiple projects and vendors
• Consolidate schedules into a master integrated schedule that supports visibility, decision making, and planning
• Provide leadership with clear, accurate representations of resource loading and project timelines
• Support the long-term maturation of the PMO’s project controls capabilities

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Own Primavera P6 schedules across multiple capital projects
• Collect schedule inputs from: Internal Project Managers, External vendors and vendor schedulers
• Integrate multiple project schedules into a single master schedule
• Ensure schedules are accurate, consistent, and properly resource-loaded
• Translate complex scheduling data into clear visuals and reporting for leadership
• Partner closely with PMs and vendors to resolve conflicts and align timelines
• Serve as a subject-matter expert for P6 scheduling best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Expert-level Primavera P6 experience (required)
• Proven ability to integrate multiple P6 schedules into a master schedule
• Strong understanding of schedule logic, dependencies, and resource loading
• Ability to work effectively with Project Managers and vendor partners
• Willingness and ability to travel to the Twin Cities approximately once per month
• Must be based in Minnesota or within a reasonable travel radius (WI or Dakotas acceptable)

Note: Years of experience are less important than demonstrated capability with the P6 tool and real world application.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to SAP (training can be provided)
• Experience supporting cost controls or project controls organizations
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors

Team Environment

• Part of the Operations Project Controls group within the PMO
• Works alongside: Project Managers, PMO leadership, Vendor schedulers and construction partners
• Highly visible role with frequent interaction across internal and external stakeholder
