Solutions Architect
12 month contract to hire
Charlotte or Detroit (Hybrid onsite 3 days)
Pay Range: $60-65hr (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking an Infrastructure Architect to join our Infrastructure Architecture Center of Excellence (CoE). This role is critical to fortifying our technology expertise and advancing our 'by design' objectives across enterprise infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect hyperconverged infrastructure solutions that support scalability, resilience, and operational efficiency
- Define standards and patterns for container and microservice hosting platforms, including orchestration, networking, and storage
- Architect application delivery infrastructure including load balancing, API gateways, and traffic management solutions
- Design and implement Active/Active infrastructure patterns to support high availability and business continuity requirements
- Partner with engineering and platform teams to translate architecture decisions into actionable implementation guidance
- Develop and maintain reference architectures, standards, and best practices within the CoE
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience designing hyperconverged infrastructure (e.g., Nutanix, VMware vSAN, or equivalent)
- Deep knowledge of container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift) and microservice hosting patterns
- Experience architecting application delivery infrastructure (F5, Nginx, HAProxy, or cloud-native equivalents)
- Proven expertise designing Active/Active solutions for fault tolerance and zero-downtime operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in regulated financial services or large enterprise environments
- Familiarity with cloud-agnostic infrastructure patterns
- Relevant certifications (VMware, Kubernetes, or cloud provider)
