OSP Field Inspector

We are seeking an OSP Field Inspector to support a leading fiber optic network provider executing a major infrastructure expansion across the Chicago market. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all construction activities related to the deployment of new fiber plant, ensuring quality installations by outside contractors, and supporting plant maintenance and repair efforts. This is a key field-facing role at the heart of a rapidly accelerating network build, where your daily oversight and reporting will directly enable the organization’s expansion goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree and/or 3–5 years of experience in a similar field preferred.
• Ability to understand and interpret fiber plant/OSP maps.
• Understanding of ISP services and the fiber network construction process.
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and strong team player mentality.
• Ability to work collaboratively across all responsibilities with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Help define and manage OSP contractor project plans for fiber network deployment in market.
• Communicate effectively with all internal and external teams and individuals to provide daily updates on fiber deployment progress.
• Perform daily oversight of fiber plant placement and report progress via OSP project management tools.
• Maintain organized trackers, records, and field data capturing contractor progress on a daily basis.
• Work with local residents and neighborhoods to ensure quality installation and a positive community experience throughout the construction process.
• Manage contractors daily to ensure all construction areas are restored to original conditions upon completion.
• Report all field changes related to conduit, fiber, and handhole placement via fiber mapping tools.
• Perform other duties as required to support project and organizational objectives.
