Position Summary
The Data Analyst will support fleet services and storm/power operations through data modeling, reporting, and BI development. This role focuses on transforming complex operational data—primarily related to vehicle fleets, operating costs, and asset usage—into actionable insights and intuitive dashboards.
You will work closely with a small analytics team, partnering with data engineers, app developers, and business stakeholders to design scalable data structures, build reporting solutions in Power BI, and support data pipelines in Databricks. This role requires both technical depth and strong storytelling ability to translate data into clear business insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret complex fleet and operations data to support decision-making and performance tracking
- Design and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) for analytics and reporting use cases
- Build and manage datasets, data structures, and database objects to support BI solutions
- Develop, optimize, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports (including data modeling, DAX, and Power Query)
- Support Databricks-based data pipelines, including data ingestion, transformation, and validation
- Collaborate with data engineers and app developers to deliver end-to-end analytics solutions
- Gather requirements, document solutions, and manage small-to-mid-sized analytics workstreams
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across reporting solutions
- Produce recurring and ad hoc reporting, KPIs, and operational dashboards for leadership
- Identify opportunities to improve data workflows, reporting efficiency, and visualization design
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in data analytics, BI development, or data modeling
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., Azure SQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
- Hands-on Power BI experience (data modeling, DAX, Power Query)
- Understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, dimensional modeling, relational design)
- Exposure to Databricks and data pipeline workflows (ETL/ELT concepts, notebooks, data transformation)
- Strong Excel skills (Power Query, PivotTables, advanced formulas)
- Ability to translate business requirements into structured data and reporting solutions
- Experience supporting or coordinating project/workstream delivery
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Microsoft Fabric)
- Exposure to Python or R for data manipulation or automation
- Familiarity with low-code tools (Power Apps, Power Automate)
- Understanding of dashboard UX / data visualization best practices
- Experience with data governance or metadata management concepts
- Knowledge of Spark SQL or Databricks SQL
