Network & Systems Security Analyst
Location: Onsite – Lutz, FL (33549)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM (hours may vary based on workload and tasks)
Duration: 6-month contract (potential for extension or conversion)
Our client is seeking a Network & Systems Security Analyst to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure enterprise infrastructure across network, server, and storage environments.
This role is ideal for a well-rounded IT professional with experience across networking, virtualization, and security, who can support day-to-day operations while contributing to infrastructure improvements and security initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Infrastructure Engineering & Support
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure across network, server, and storage environments
- Install, configure, and support hardware and software including Windows Servers, VMware, and network devices
- Support Storage Area Networks (SAN) and virtualization platforms
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management
- Assist with infrastructure planning based on capacity and project requirements
Network & Systems Operations
- Monitor and maintain performance of network and server environments
- Troubleshoot issues using structured methodologies (OSI model)
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Escalate complex issues and coordinate with vendors for resolution
- Provide Level 2 technical support across infrastructure systems
Security & Compliance
- Ensure infrastructure aligns with IT security policies and best practices
- Support and maintain firewalls and network security controls
- Provide security support across operating systems and network devices
- Assist with vulnerability remediation and secure configuration management
- Support authentication systems and access controls
Disaster Recovery & Continuity
- Participate in the planning, testing, and maintenance of disaster recovery (DR) plans
- Support system backups, failover processes, and recovery testing
Project Support & Collaboration
- Contribute to infrastructure-related projects including upgrades and deployments
- Assist with design and planning for small to mid-sized initiatives
- Collaborate with internal IT teams and external vendors
- Document configurations, processes, and system changes
- Provide technical input and guidance on infrastructure design decisions as needed
Day-to-Day Activities
- Troubleshooting network and server issues
- Supporting VMware and Windows server environments
- Maintaining firewall configurations and network security controls
- Installing and configuring infrastructure hardware/software
- Supporting SAN and storage environments
- Assisting with system monitoring and performance tuning
- Participating in infrastructure upgrades and DR testing
Required Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, network, or systems administration
- Hands-on experience with:
- Windows Server environments
- VMware virtualization
- Cisco networking (routing & switching)
- Firewall support and network security
- Storage Area Networks (SAN)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across network and systems environments
- Must be able to pass a NERC-required background screening for access to critical infrastructure systems
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
- Exposure to cybersecurity best practices and frameworks
- Experience supporting enterprise-level infrastructure environments
- Prior experience in regulated industries (utilities, healthcare, finance, etc.)
Certifications (Preferred)
- CCNA / CCNP
- MCSA / MCSE
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- CISSP or CEH
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, switching, TCP/IP)
- Experience supporting virtualized and on-prem infrastructure
- Ability to troubleshoot across network, server, and storage layers
- Understanding of IT security principles and best practices
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice-to-Have (Level 2 / Senior Candidates)
- Experience leading small projects or initiatives
- Ability to mentor junior team members
- Experience contributing to infrastructure design and planning
- May serve as technical lead on small projects and provide technical direction to junior team members
Salary : $50 - $55
