IT Project Manager
12-Month Contract | Strong Potential for Extension or Conversion
Location: Charlotte, NC (Optimist Hall Area)
Schedule: Hybrid – 3 Days/Week On-Site
Position Overview
We are seeking an Associate IT Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of technology initiatives across the organization. This individual will partner with business stakeholders, technology teams, and project leaders to help drive project activities, facilitate communication, manage timelines, and ensure successful delivery of key initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone who has experience supporting projects, business analysis efforts, or technology initiatives and is looking to further develop their project management career. The successful candidate will be highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn while working alongside experienced project and technology leaders.
Key Responsibilities
• Support project planning, execution, and delivery activities across multiple technology and business initiatives.
• Coordinate meetings, project schedules, action items, and stakeholder communications to ensure project milestones remain on track.
• Assist with gathering business requirements, documenting project needs, and facilitating discussions between business and technical teams.
• Track project risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions while escalating concerns appropriately.
• Maintain project plans, status reports, meeting notes, and project documentation.
• Partner with project managers, business analysts, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Help facilitate Agile ceremonies, project meetings, stakeholder workshops, and planning sessions.
• Support testing, deployment, training, and implementation activities to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Assist with process improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance workflows, communication, and delivery effectiveness.
• Provide regular project updates and ensure stakeholders have visibility into project progress and priorities.
Required Qualifications
• 3 years of experience supporting technology projects, business analysis initiatives, project coordination, or related functions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholder groups.
• Basic understanding of project management methodologies, SDLC processes, or Agile delivery practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience as a Project Coordinator, Junior Project Manager, Business Analyst, Scrum Coordinator, or similar role.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, or other project management tools.
• Exposure to technology, software development, enterprise applications, infrastructure, or digital transformation projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Technology, Project Management, or a related field.
• Interest in pursuing project management certifications such as CAPM, PMP, Scrum Master, or Agile certifications.
