Data Entry Analyst

Location: Charlotte, NC

Hybrid: 4 days/week in office, 1 day remote following on-site training period

Long-term contract with potential for full-time hire

Brooksource is searching for an Data Entry Analyst in south Charlotte, NC to join our Fortune 500 Telecommunications client’s Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) compliance initiative. The RDOF is a federal program that awarded up to $20.4 billion to broadband providers to build high-speed internet infrastructure into unserved rural communities across the U.S.

This 6-month project offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data research and analysis within a major national telecommunications company. No prior telecom experience is needed – what matters most is sharp attention to detail, strong internet research skills, and the ability to stay focused and productive through high-volume, detail-oriented work.

Each day you’ll work through a queue of address and location data. These are locations our client committed to serve under the RDOF program. For each one, you’ll research whether the address is real, what type of location it is, and whether it should count toward our client’s FCC build-out obligations – or be challenged as a data error. This involves:

  • Searching Google Maps, county and municipal GIS portals, and other public online sources to identify and verify each address location
  • Cross-referencing multiple data sources to piece together a complete picture when single-source searches are inconclusive
  • Entering your findings and a disposition into the Excel tracking file (e.g., location is real and unbuilt, location doesn’t exist and should be challenged with the FCC, etc.)
  • Meeting weekly productivity targets for the number of records researched and dispositioned
  • Flagging recurring data patterns or issues to the project manager for escalation
  • Collaborating with teammates and contributing to overall team quality standards

Responsibilities:

  • Validate and enrich address-level data for RDOF-committed locations across multiple states
  • Process and update location records in the project’s Excel tracking system
  • Identify and flag data discrepancies, non-existent locations, and records that may warrant FCC challenge
  • Conduct thorough online research using Google Maps, GIS portals, and other public internet resources
  • Maintain high accuracy and documentation standards – these dispositions have real regulatory implications
  • Meet productivity metrics for data processing
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project objectives

Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
  • Strong internet research skills – the ability to dig through Google Maps, GIS sites, and public records to find answers is the core competency for this role
  • High attention to detail and accuracy; the determinations you make carry regulatory weight
  • Ability to stay focused and productive during repetitive, high-volume research tasks
  • Basic understanding of data management principles
  • Problem-solving skills and logical thinking
  • Ability to work effectively in a structured team environment
  • Basic SQL skills a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • No prior telecom, GIS, or broadband experience required – curiosity and strong internet research instincts matter most

Additional Information:

  • Hybrid in south Charlotte, NC (4 days onsite/1 day remote after initial training period)
  • 6-month project with potential for extension or FTE conversion
  • Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, 401k, and PTO
