Cybersecurity Consultant

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced cybersecurity professional to join our Tech Client. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background, deep expertise in cybersecurity controls, and the ability to translate complex control concepts into clear, actionable requirements that enable scalable automation and modernization.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a strong technical skillset and a deep understanding of cybersecurity control objectives, control design, and control operations across diverse lab and enterprise environments.
- Analyze existing and emerging security controls to ensure alignment with organizational risk, compliance, and modernization goals.
- Translate complex technical and security control concepts into standardized, actionable requirement statements that can be effectively consumed by User Experience teams, AI systems, and automation teams.
- Partner closely with Cyber control owners and operators to define, refine, and document requirements in accordance with Control Modernization standards.
- Ensure control requirements are clear, measurable, and suitable for automation and long-term scalability.
- Contribute to consistent, high-quality documentation that supports implementation, testing, and ongoing control lifecycle management.
- Engages with business partners and other internal stakeholders on cross-functional teams, performing solution architecture & gap analysis against existing access and network security
- Help devise and recommend network security solutions and program-related items to Cybersecurity leadership and with other leaders across the organization.
- Collaborate with GRC team on the implementation and maturation of security controls against industry-recognized security frameworks and standards such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53 and ISO 2700x
- Create documentation and brief leadership on current network security risks as it pertains to enterprise sensitive data
- Creates and presents business case proposals for investment as needed
- Ability to identify network security gaps in end-to-end business processes and recommend techniques and tools to improve security posture and performance while reducing risk
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, or control design and operation.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity control frameworks, objectives, and operational practices.
- Experience writing clear, standardized technical and security requirements.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in distributed or remote environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cyber Control Modernization or large-scale security transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with automation, AI-enabled systems, or UX-driven security solutions.
- Background working directly with control owners, auditors, or compliance teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Practical understanding and experience building/designing/operating security technologies across multiple domains
- 10 years of enterprise experience in Network Security with working knowledge of enterprise hybrid cloud environments
- Security and privacy industry certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); IAPP CIPT, CIPP/E/US, Palo Alto
- Experience with setting strategy for network security controls in big data and multi-cloud environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of Network Security Control Standards and Procedures
