Job Summary
The Senior Data Governance Analyst supports enterprise data governance initiatives within an Enterprise Information Management (EIM) and Data Governance organization. This role focuses on leading the analysis, design, and implementation of data governance practices that ensure data quality, consistency, compliance, and usability across the enterprise. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in healthcare data, business systems analysis, and data warehouse environments, and is comfortable collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate data governance workgroups and data stewardship meetings, partnering with business and technical stakeholders to define and refine business rules, reference data standards, and requirements for data warehouse enhancements.
- Lead the analysis, documentation, and management of enterprise data assets, ensuring appropriate classification, storage, and maintenance.
- Perform testing, impact analysis, and shift analysis for proposed changes to business rules, line-of-business crosswalks, and derived fields within the enterprise data warehouse.
- Address data-related questions and concerns related to data warehouse management and governance, providing guidance on best practices.
- Collaborate closely with data acquisition, data enrichment, data delivery, and data management teams to support successful implementation of data governance solutions.
- Conduct data governance reviews to ensure compliance with established business rules and applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of data governance initiatives and recommend continuous improvements.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices related to data governance and healthcare data management.'
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a healthcare-related field.
- 5–8 years of experience within the healthcare industry, with a focus on business systems analysis and data governance.
- Advanced understanding of data warehouse environments, business intelligence reporting, and SQL.
- Strong ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with a proven ability to build consensus across teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with a strong emphasis on data accuracy and quality.
- Familiarity with data governance principles, practices, and supporting tools.
- Healthcare payer business knowledge is preferred.
