Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Project Manager to support our Data Center Field Services Team at one of our major technology clients in managing large-scale data center initiatives. This individual will oversee project delivery, resource planning, and operational execution within a high-demand environment. The ideal candidate has prior experience managing projects in data center settings, including team coordination and vendor engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables for data center build-outs, expansions, and operational upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with client standards, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate staffing needs for technicians, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Oversee day-to-day activities of project teams, ensuring alignment with milestones and KPIs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external vendors.
- Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and escalation management.
- Track project budgets, forecast resource allocation, and manage change orders.
- Maintain accurate documentation for project scope, schedules, and compliance audits.
- Support rack-and-stack operations, cabling projects, and infrastructure deployments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on power, cooling, and network readiness.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of project management experience, with at least 2 years in data center environments.
- Proven ability to manage resourcing and team leadership for technical projects.
- Hands-on understanding of data center infrastructure, including: rack-and-stack operations for servers and network gear, structured Cabling (fiber and copper) for MOR/EOR/IDF deployments, familiarity with Main Distribution Frame (MDF), Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF), and End-of-Row (EOR) configurations., & coordination of power and cooling readiness for IT hardware.
- Experience overseeing installation and troubleshooting of network and compute hardware.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
