Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products, providing knowledgeable recommendations and product demos when appropriate
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for retail sales transactions, including cash register operations and cash handling
- Manage stock levels by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and merchandising products to maximize sales potential
- Conduct upselling techniques to promote featured or higher-margin items, enhancing customer satisfaction and store revenue
- Ensure compliance with legal age restrictions by verifying customer identification during alcohol sales using phone etiquette and professional communication skills
- Handle cash drawer with accuracy, perform basic math calculations for transactions, and maintain precise cash handling procedures
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation, product ordering, and maintaining accurate stock records
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not mandatory; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential
- Strong communication skills and friendly demeanor
- Knowledge of or interest in alcohol products is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Must comply with all legal requirements related to selling alcohol, including age verification regulations
