Warehouse Picker / Order Processor

Equipment Used: Aisle-Master Forklift, material-handling equipment, computer/scanner systemsPosition SummaryThe Warehouse Picker / Order Processor is responsible for accurately pulling stock orders from warehouse inventory, verifying product and quantities, and processing completed orders for shipment. This position will regularly operate an Aisle-Master forklift to safely retrieve and move materials throughout the warehouse.The primary focus of this position is to ensure stock orders are pulled, verified, processed, and prepared for shipping accurately and on time while maintaining inventory accuracy, organization, safety, and product traceability.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review stock orders and shipping requirements to determine daily priorities.


• Operate an Aisle-Master forklift to safely retrieve products from warehouse storage locations.


• Pull the correct part number, product, quantity, and lot information according to the order.


• Verify all picked material against order documentation before processing.


• Process stock orders through the appropriate inventory, shipping, or ERP system.


• Prepare completed orders for shipment, including labeling, packaging, documentation, and staging.


• Verify shipping labels and paperwork match the correct product and customer order.


• Perform a final verification of product, quantity, packaging, and documentation prior to releasing orders for shipment.


• Maintain accurate inventory transactions when material is pulled, moved, returned, or processed.


• Identify and report inventory discrepancies immediately.


• Properly stage completed orders in designated shipping locations.


• Maintain clear identification and separation of orders to prevent product or customer mix-ups.


• Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification as needed.


• Follow FIFO, lot-control, traceability, or other inventory requirements where applicable.


• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse work area.


• Follow all forklift, PPE, pedestrian, and warehouse safety requirements.


• Perform daily pre-use inspections of the Aisle-Master forklift and report equipment concerns immediately.


• Communicate material shortages, order discrepancies, damaged product, or other issues that could delay shipment.


• Coordinate with Shipping, Production, Inventory Control, Customer Service, and other departments as necessary.


• Support additional warehouse and material-handling activities as assigned.

Order Verification ExpectationsThe Picker / Processor is expected to verify the following before an order is released for shipment:

• Correct customer/order number


• Correct part number


• Correct product and product description


• Correct quantity


• Correct lot or traceability information, when required


• Correct packaging


• Correct labels


• Correct shipping documentation


• Product is free from obvious damage or packaging concerns

Safety Responsibilities

• Operate the Aisle-Master forklift only after completing required training and authorization.


• Follow established forklift speed limits and traffic patterns.


• Use proper horn, intersection, pedestrian, and aisle safety practices.


• Complete required equipment inspections before operation.


• Never operate equipment that has been identified as unsafe.


• Follow all required PPE and warehouse safety procedures.


• Immediately report accidents, near misses, damaged racking, damaged products, or unsafe conditions.

QualificationsRequired:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


• Previous warehouse, shipping, order picking, or material-handling experience preferred.


• Ability to become trained and certified/authorized to operate an Aisle-Master forklift.


• Basic computer and data-entry skills.


• Ability to read and accurately follow work orders, pick lists, labels, and shipping documentation.


• Strong attention to detail and ability to verify part numbers and quantities.


• Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the warehouse and shipping team.


• Dependable attendance and ability to meet daily shipping deadlines.

Preferred:

• Previous forklift experience.


• Previous Aisle-Master or narrow-aisle forklift experience.


• Experience with ERP, inventory, warehouse management, or shipping systems.


• Experience with cycle counting and inventory control.


• Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.


• Ability to frequently enter and exit forklift/material-handling equipment.


• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive material-handling activities.


• Ability to lift and move materials within established company lifting requirements.


• Ability to work safely in an active warehouse and manufacturing environment.


• Ability to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.


• Ability to consistently lift up to 25 lbs.
