Limited Permit Mental Health Counselor (MHC-LP) - Full-Time Remote
Brooklyn Integrative Mental Health Counseling PLLC (BIMHC) is an integrative, trauma-informed private practice grounded in Care. Clarity. Change. We provide compassionate, evidence-based, and person-centered psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families across New York.
We are seeking full-time MHC-LP clinicians for a fully remote role, with occasional in-person recruiting events as needed.
About the Role
As a Limited Permit Counselor at BIMHC, you will provide outpatient psychotherapy through a humanistic, strengths-based lens while developing strong clinical skills aligned with the DSM-5-TR. You will receive weekly supervision and consistent support designed to help you grow into a confident, reflective clinician.

- Newly hired Limited Permit (LP) clinicians will begin their employment under a probationary pay rate of $35 per session.
- This probationary period is designed to support the clinician’s transition into the practice while ensuring alignment with clinical, ethical, and operational standards. Completes onboarding, Obtains their Limited Permit, Demonstrates proficiency in documentation and communication, Effectively establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships, Maintains at least 50% client retention
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual, family, or couples counseling via secure telehealth
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and complete accurate DSM-5-TR–aligned diagnoses
- Create treatment plans by the 3rd session, updating them regularly
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation, including progress notes submitted within 36 hours
- Complete indirect clinical tasks, including:
- Writing notes and treatment plans
- Scheduling and contacting clients
- Completing intake calls
- Brief administrative tasks
- Attend weekly supervision
- Maintain ethical and professional standards consistent with NYS Office of Professions
Required Equipment for Remote Counseling
- Reliable computer or laptop
- Stable high-speed internet

- Microphone or noise-canceling headset
- Private and professional environment suitable for confidential sessions
Qualifications
- Active NYS MHC-LP, or eligible to apply
- Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Availability for full-time remote work
