Duties
- Prepare ingredients and components of dishes according to standardized recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist with meal preparation by chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, mixers, and food processors.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards.
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate food production, communicate effectively about timing and special requests.
- Follow all safety protocols in food handling, storage, and production to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies; notify management when stock needs replenishing.
Qualifications
- Proven food service experience in a restaurant or catering environment demonstrating knowledge of food preparation and safety standards.
- Strong culinary skills including knife handling, slicing techniques, and adherence to recipes.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
