Child & Family Clinician Position Summary Brookhaven Treatment & Learning Center is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and highly motivated Child & Family Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team. Brookhaven is a Vermont-approved independent therapeutic school and residential treatment program serving youth whose emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs require a highly individualized, trauma-informed approach. The Child & Family Clinician provides comprehensive clinical services to assigned residential and day students while collaborating closely with educational, residential, medical, and family systems to support each youth's overall success. This position develops individualized treatment plans, provides therapeutic services, coordinates care with internal and external providers, and assists in creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment for all youth. Essential Responsibilities * Provide individual, group, and family therapy to assigned youth. * Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment, behavioral, and crisis plans. * Utilize trauma-informed, child-centered, and evidence-based therapeutic practices. * Collaborate with educational staff, residential staff, psychiatrists, families, guardians, and community providers to coordinate care. * Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups. * Support staff by providing consultation, coaching, and effective behavioral interventions. * Maintain regular communication with families, guardians, sending agencies, and treatment team members regarding client progress. * Participate in monthly psychiatric consultations and coordinate medication-related communication as needed. * Provide oversight of the medication management system, including staff training, medication ordering, packaging, documentation, compliance monitoring, and reporting medication changes or errors. * Respond to clinical crises and participate in the on-call rotation as assigned. * Supervise family visits when clinically indicated. * Complete timely documentation, treatment plans, progress notes, reports, and all required clinical records in accordance with licensing and HIPAA requirements. * Collect and analyze clinical data to monitor treatment progress and outcomes. * Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical supervision, and professional development. * Maintain client confidentiality while adhering to ethical standards, Vermont licensing regulations, and Brookhaven policies and procedures. Qualifications * Master's degree in Clinical Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field. * Vermont clinical licensure (or eligibility for licensure) preferred (LICSW, LCMHC, LMFT, or equivalent). * Experience working with children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, developmental, and mental health challenges preferred. * Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, positive behavior supports, and family systems. * Strong assessment, documentation, communication, organization, and collaboration skills. * Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team. * Experience with treatment planning, behavioral interventions, and clinical documentation. * Medication management experience is preferred but not required. Preferred Experience Preference will be given to candidates with experience in: * Residential or therapeutic educational settings * Trauma-focused therapies * Functional behavior assessment and behavior intervention planning * Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and developmental disabilities * Motivational Interviewing * Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) * Crisis management and de-escalation * HIPAA-compliant documentation and electronic health records Salary & Benefits Salary is commensurate with education, licensure, and experience.
