What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver/Community Living Assistant position at Brookhaven at Lexington?
We are seeking a full-time Driver/Community Living Assistant to provide safe and reliable transportation and operational support for Community Living programs by ensuring vehicle readiness, assisting residents during outings and events, and supporting day-to-day activities that enhance resident safety, engagement, and well-being.
Regular Schedule:
40 hours per week
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Pay Range: $19 - $22 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Show compassion, respect, and patience when dealing with residents.
- Drive residents on trips.
- Maintain vehicles according to manufacturer’s maintenance schedule, maintain cleanliness of interior/exterior of vehicle and ensure snow is removed from vehicles before operating.
- Fill out vehicle inspection sheet weekly.
- Ensure that all safety features of the vehicle are in working condition; test the Accessibility Platform quarterly.
- Ensure residents’ safety on trips and provide assistance while boarding and un-boarding.
- Drop off toners, and other collection boxes as needed.
- Set up chairs and equipment for scheduled program and events.
- Support overall CL efforts by assisting with cubby stuffers, package delivery and other duties as assigned.
- Regularly check expiration dates on products in the Country Store.
- Communicate resident concerns/suggestions to Director of Community Living.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
- Regularly check clusters for furniture servicing and cleaning and report to community Living Operations Coordinator.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Current drivers license
- Experience in a customer service environment, preferably in an elder care setting.
- Must be able to safely operate and drive 14 passenger bus.
- Vision capability sufficient to judge distance and depth while driving.
- Range of motion sufficient to safely operate 14 passenger bus.
- Hearing capability sufficient to detect and distinguish traffic sounds occurring from any direction outside the bus.
- Depth perception adequate to reasonably determine distance and closing rate of other moving vehicles from a stationary or moving bus, distance from curbs, other moving vehicles and/or stationary objects, and distance needed to park, backup and pass other vehicles safely.
- Color vision to distinguish the colors of a traffic light and signage.
- Prolonged walking and/or standing.
- Moving, assisting and/or helping lift objects up to 25 pounds.
Salary : $19 - $22
