We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Home Care Medical Assistant to join our clinical care team. This position involves providing hands-on patient support and clinical services in client homes throughout the community. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and comfortable working independently while maintaining strong patient care standards. A personal vehicle and valid driver’s license are required.
Responsibilities
- Travel to patients’ residences to perform routine clinical tasks and assist with care as directed by nurse practitioners or supervising clinicians.
- Obtain and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate.
- Conduct basic patient assessments and report findings accurately to providers.
- Prepare and maintain clinical documentation in compliance with New York State and HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medication reminders, wound care preparation, and monitoring of chronic conditions under supervision.
- Support patient education on preventive care, nutrition, medication adherence, and follow-up schedules.
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of medical equipment and supplies used during home visits.
- Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the supervising nurse or medical provider.
- Uphold infection control and safety protocols in all home environments.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of equivalent training.
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, ideally in home health, primary care, or outpatient settings.
- Valid New York State driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle with appropriate insurance.
- Strong communication, documentation, and patient interaction skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple home visits.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred.
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
