Job Summary
TerraForm Power is seeking an Intern to support its Policy & Regulatory Affairs function during Summer 2026. This role will work directly with the Senior Manager of Policy & Regulatory Affairs to analyze legislative and regulatory developments, support market strategy, and help inform the company’s approach to renewable energy policy across key U.S. markets.
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to how energy policy directly influences project development, origination strategy, and asset value in the utility-scale renewable sector.

This role will work directly with the Senior Manager of Policy & Regulatory Affairs to analyze legislative and regulatory developments, support market strategy, and help inform the company’s approach to renewable energy policy across key U.S. markets.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and summarize legislative, regulatory, and market developments across priority markets
- Track and analyze state and federal policy developments impacting utility-scale solar and energy storage
- Support the preparation of internal memos and presentations that translate policy developments into actionable commercial insights
- Assist in evaluating utility IRPs, RFPs, and procurement frameworks to identify opportunities and risks for TerraForm’s development and origination strategy
- Conduct market research to support expansion into new geographies or technologies
- Support stakeholder mapping and engagement tracking
- Assist in preparing briefing materials for external meetings with policymakers, trade groups, and other stakeholders
- Collaborate cross-functionally with origination, development, and asset management teams to provide policy-related inputs into project evaluation and strategy
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Environmental Studies, Energy Systems, or a related field
- Strong interest in renewable energy, power markets, and energy policy
- Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly and concisely
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams
