What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Manager, Outpatient Oncology Unit position at BronxCare Health System?
BronxCare Health System, a major teaching hospital and health system, now has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Nurse Manager to provide clinical and administrative leadership for its outpatient BronxCare/Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care Facility. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations and providing nursing staff support in clinical problem solving, responding to emergency situations, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. Venipuncture and chemotherapy administration; patient education and staff development; accurate and timely documentation; and infection control protocols, as well as supervising staff in administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with procedures, are also essential.
Qualified candidates must have a BSN (MSN preferred) in addition to a minimum of three years of recent acute care and prior leadership experience. A New York State Registered Nurse License and Registration, Certified Chemotherapy/Biotherapy credentials, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate, and BLS certification from the American Heart Association are also required.
