What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Specialist position at Brodstone Healthcare?
JOB SUMMARY:
- To prepare and serve all food for patients, organization staff, visitors.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
- Adheres to Brodstone Healthcare’s Mission, Vision and Values.
- Adheres to Brodstone Healthcare’s Standards of Behavior.
- Cooks and prepares food for Breakfast, Dinner and Supper meals for patients, staff and visitors.
- Places food on plates according to specified diets.
- Serves dinner and supper to staff.
- Sends nourishments to patients requiring them.
- Sends food supplies to 2nd floor.
- Helps take tray cart up to 2nd floor.
- Runs dishwasher to clean pots, pans, and patient trays, etc.
- Charts in record book the number of meals prepared.
- Cleans and sanitizes all equipment and work area used.
- Performs weekly or monthly cleaning duties as assigned.
- Sweeps and mops floor at end of shift and each day.
- Answers the kitchen phone.
- Receives dietary supplies in absence of director.
- Helps wrap silverware.
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings / in-services, Brodstone Healthcare quality improvement program, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Preferred
- GED or High School Diploma
EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred
- Previous cooking experience or one year as assistant cook
