Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Subject: Middle School Title I Reading Interventionists (4 total; please note two positions are for only the 2026-2027 school year; all positions begin immediately) Plouffe Middle School- 1 position North Middle School- 1 position Plouffe Middle School- 1 one-year position East Middle School- 1 one-year position The Title I Reading Interventionist provides targeted, evidence-based literacy instruction to middle school students who require additional support to accelerate their growth as readers and writers. Working within the district’s Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), the Reading Interventionist uses student data to identify needs, deliver responsive Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions, monitor student progress, and adjust instruction accordingly. The interventionist works collaboratively with classroom teachers, school leaders, and instructional staff to strengthen students’ access to grade-level literacy instruction and improve outcomes for students receiving Title I services. Qualifications • Valid Massachusetts DESE license- Reading, All Levels, PreK-12- required • Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience, preferably at the middle school level and/or in literacy intervention. • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based literacy instruction, including decoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing. • Knowledge of adolescent literacy development and effective practices for supporting struggling readers. • Experience using assessment and progress-monitoring data to identify student needs, plan instruction, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. • Commitment to high expectations and equitable access to rigorous, grade-level learning for all students. Responsibilities • Provide direct, targeted reading intervention to identified middle school students. • Plan and deliver evidence-based literacy instruction aligned with individual student needs, district literacy priorities, and grade-level expectations. • Administer and analyze diagnostic, benchmark, and progress-monitoring assessments to identify specific areas of need and measure student growth. • Maintain accurate student intervention and progress-monitoring records and use data to adjust the intensity, focus, and delivery of instruction. • Collaborate regularly with ELA teachers, school leaders, special educators, multilingual learner educators, and other support staff to coordinate services and strengthen student outcomes. • Support students in transferring intervention strategies and skills to their grade-level ELA coursework and other content areas. • Communicate with families regarding students’ literacy needs, intervention supports, and progress, as appropriate. • Assist with Title I family informational sessions. • Support school and district literacy initiatives designed to accelerate achievement and reduce disparities in student outcomes. • Perform other related duties consistent with the goals and requirements of the Title I program. Compensation- According to the BEA contract. Salary : $58,552 - $125,338
