Internal - McKinney-Vento and Educational Resource Coordinators (3) Brockton High School
The above captioned position is available through FY26 McKinney-Vento Grant FC310 funding.
Qualifications:
1.Current teacher, guidance/adjustment counselor, or administrator of Brockton Public Schools.
2.Familiarity with community resources and after school programs.
3.Understanding and willingness to learn about the McKinney-Vento regulations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Oversight of Food Pantry activities including:
a.Serve as a liaison between Brockton Charity Guild staff and BPS staff (custodial, facilities, counselors, etc.).
b.Ensure CORI completion for all outside/non-BPS volunteers.
c.Coordinate weekly food backpack distribution with Charity Guild volunteers.
d.Open pantry for emergency situations (fires, evictions, etc.).
e.Coordinate with BHS Main office to facilitate quarterly pantry announcements and student email blasts.
f.Send weekly reminder emails to participating students.
g.Distribute BHS Hall Passes to students accessing the pantry.
h.Maintain accurate data related to food pantry usage.
2.Donations
a.Organize any BHS donations received (food, clothing, financial).
b.Oversee access to clothing closet, hygiene items, and other items such as books, prom dresses, shoes, etc.
c.Maintain existing relationships and actively seek to develop new opportunities for donations.
d.Plan and implement Holiday Help gift drive for families in need.
e.Facilitate home delivery of donations to students when necessary.
3.Academic and Enrichment Activities:
a.Collaborate with BHS Coordinator of Guidance and/or counseling staff to identify MV/FC students in
need of additional academic support services and enrichment activities.
b.Assist and facilitate students' access to available afterschool academic and enrichment activities including, sports/clubs, extra-help, and tutoring, vocational, and career services.
4.Resource and Referrals
a.ConnectMV/FC-eligibleyouthwith appropriate referrals to community resources and services as needed.
b.Ensure available resources, services, and pantry announcements are advertised and prominently displayed in multiple languages for students.
c.Foster positive relationships with current partners; explore and develop opportunities for new partnerships and community resource collaborations.
5.Collaborate with District McKinney-Vento and Foster Care Liaison
a.Maintain accurate count of students served ineachservice/activity and submit data report monthly.
b.Notify of any changes needed for transportation to accommodate afterschool activities.
c.Ensure identified needs of MV/FC students aremet in a timely fashion and communicate any barriers to liaison.
d.Submit monthly time logs.
Compensation: Up to three (3) staff will work up to 4 hours per week and receive the hourly rate for coordinating activities throughout the school year. Stipend shall be paid monthly.
