Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human ResourcesSUBJECT: Assistant Principal - Brockton High School It is requested that the following information be brought to the attention of all teaching and administrative personnel in the Brockton Public Schools. The School Department is advertising the position of Assistant Principal - Brockton High School.
Qualifications: 1.Principal/Assistant Principal 9-12 license2.Five or more years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience at high school level. 3.Strong background in secondary education, initiatives, philosophy, teaching, and curriculum and instruction preferred.4.Experience in change process, redesign initiatives and strategies, accreditation, special education, and multilingual learners preferred. 5.Experience conducting bullying/harassment investigations6.Knowledge of student discipline laws and regulations, multi-tiered support systems, Restorative Justice, district policies, best practices related to building administration, and student handbook policies.7.Supervision and evaluation experience preferred. Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Assistant Principal will be assigned to at least one house with the understanding that their position is building-wide and may require assignment, presence, and/or involvement in other houses/areas of Brockton High School.
2.Create and maintain a positive climate and culture conducive to teaching and learning in order to increase student proficiency.3.Review student attendance, behavior, and academic data on a bi-weekly basis and conduct family/caregiver meetings to develop interventions and report attendance concerns in accordance with district identified timelines, and/or assign staff to do so.4.Administer student discipline according to district policy and law.5.Develop intervention strategies that support the needs of students and ensure all staff are trained and supported in the use of those strategies.6.Conduct investigations to ensure appropriate documentation of incidents, interviews, and outcomes.7.Implement a multi-tiered system of support that integrates data and instruction to increase student proficiency and support students social, emotional, and behavioral needs 8.Complete district-provided safety care training and utilize de-escalation techniques to deal with dysregulated students9.Collaborate with counselors and student support staff to develop behavioral interventions for students. 10.Utilize restorative practices as a means to resolve conflict and address behavioral concerns.11.Collaborate with families to address concerns around academic performance, behavior, and attendance.12.Assign, monitor and support BHS Floor Teachers and Access Control Specialists assigned to them to ensure building safety.13.On an equitable and rotating basis, attend late afternoon, evening and weekend events related to the position as assigned by building administration.14.Supervise and evaluate teachers, ensuring adherence to Educator Evaluation timelines. 15.Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and Associate Principal for Climate and Culture. Compensation: 1.25 ratio/10 months 2 weeksWorkday: 6:35 a.m.

A copy of administrative certification/licensure should also be submitted if not already on file.
