Therapeutic Support Specialist – FIRST Program
Location: Brockton, MA
Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00pm-6:00pm
Salary Range: $22–$24/hour
FLSA Status: Exempt

What You’ll Do:
The Therapeutic Support Specialist helps youth/TAY build life skills, strengthen relationships, and increase resilience through individualized and group supports.
• Support youth/TAY with visioning, goal setting, and future planning
• Assist in developing and implementing individualized action plans, treatment interventions, and behavioral goals
• Facilitate and monitor activities that promote socialization, boundaries, and community integration
• Teach independent living skills such as budgeting, shopping, transportation use, and self-care
• Support educational, career, and vocational planning (applications, interviews, etc.)
• Collaborate with Program Director, Clinician, caregivers, and providers to ensure coordinated care
• Assist in safety planning and support youth during crises
• Advocate for youth/TAY to ensure services are strengths‑based and culturally responsive
• Document progress, outcomes, and action plan updates in a timely and accurate manner
• Utilize self-assessment data to support transition planning
• Celebrate youth and family progress and achievements
• Provide transportation to appointments and activities as needed
• Participate in supervision and team meetings
• Follow all BAMSI/DMH policies, including safety and universal precautions
• Perform additional duties as assigned
What You Bring:
Education & Experience:
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a human services field required
• At least one (1) year of experience working with youth/TAY with mental, behavioral, or emotional challenges
Skills & Knowledge:
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of mental health, trauma, domestic violence, substance use, and family systems
• Knowledge of the Wraparound model preferred
• Familiarity with DMH, DCF, DDS, DYS, DOE and CBHI services (ICC, IHT, TM, ABA, FS&T, outpatient) desired
• Strong organizational, documentation, and computer skills
Additional Requirements:
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings
• Willingness to transport youth/families in personal vehicle
• Ability to travel up to 80% within BAMSI service region
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
