Data Analyst (Anticipated)

Hours: 8.00 Hours Per Day (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

Work Year: 12 Months Per Year

Minimum Pay Rate: $26.00 Per Hour

Qualifications

Those individuals classified as a Data Analyst OR reachable on the current Data Analyst list OR otherwise qualified by the rules of the Monroe County Civil Service Commission listed below will be considered:

• Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
• Three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in the organization, analysis and manipulation of data utilizing a database management system; OR,
• Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree in any computer science, management information systems, or information technology field, plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as described in (A) above; OR,
• An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
  
  

Promotional exam qualifications: The only qualified candidates are current employees with twelve (12) months of permanent service in the title of Office Clerk II immediately preceding the date of the written examination.

Primary Responsibility: The Data Analyst reports directly to the Assistant to the Superintendent for Instruction, and works closely with building and district administration. The role of the Data Analyst is responsible for maintaining various student and staff information databases in addition to compiling, reporting and managing data required by the NYSED.

Key Functions

• Coodinates and manages student data dashboards to ensure accuracy and complacence.
• Coordinates data collection including collaborating with all buildings and staff in the district to ensure timely and accurate submission to NYSED. Some of this data includes but is not limited to BEDS, APPR, personnel information, attendance/enrollment, student scores, district report cards, NYSED data warehouse, school lunches, etc.
• Compiles, organizes and analyzes student and staff data as requested by Administration as well disseminates data efficiently and effectively.
• Assists district administrators in understanding data and how to interpret and use data in the decision making process. May be required to facilitate meetings and discussions regarding data and support the administrative team in their responsibilities.
• Assists administrative staff in utilizing and troubleshooting network and other technology including but not limited to the use of the district web development tool and office productivity products.
