Brockett Industrial Services is a growing industrial installation and service company based in South Windsor, Connecticut. We specialize in the installation, service, and inspection of vertical reciprocating conveyors (freight/material lifts), overhead cranes, hoists, and other material-handling equipment. Our projects take us across the country, while the majority of our work is performed locally throughout Connecticut and the surrounding region.

We are looking for a reliable, mechanically inclined, hardworking individual to join our installation team in an entry-level position.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, learning skilled trades, working around heavy equipment, and traveling to different job sites. No prior elevator or crane installation experience is required for the right candidate. We are willing to train someone who has the right attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn.

Position Overview

As an Entry-Level Installation Technician, you will work alongside experienced technicians installing freight elevators/material lifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and related equipment at commercial and industrial job sites.

You will learn how to safely use tools and equipment, read basic plans and installation instructions, assist with mechanical assembly, rigging, equipment positioning, and job-site preparation.

This position is physically demanding and requires working at heights, lifting and moving equipment and materials, and working in a variety of industrial and commercial environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced technicians with the installation of freight elevators/material lifts and overhead crane systems
• Assist with mechanical assembly and installation of equipment, structural components, gates, rails, platforms, guards, hoists, and related components
• Use hand tools, power tools, drills, grinders, saws, and other construction/installation equipment
• Assist with rigging, lifting, positioning, and securing equipment and materials
• Load, unload, organize, and transport tools, equipment, and materials
• Follow instructions, installation drawings, and job-site procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all company and job-site safety requirements
• Work safely around heavy machinery, cranes, lifts, and other industrial equipment
• Assist with troubleshooting and adjustments during installations
• Communicate professionally with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and other contractors
• Travel to job sites throughout Connecticut and across the United States as required
• Perform other installation and material-handling duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT medical certificate
• Reliable transportation to our South Windsor, CT location
• Ability to travel for work, including occasional overnight trips of 1–2 weeks
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position
• Ability to work at heights and around industrial equipment
• Ability to pass required job-site safety requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Construction experience
• Mechanical experience
• Welding or fabrication experience
• Rigging experience
• Crane or hoist experience
• Elevator or material-lift experience
• Electrical experience
• Forklift experience
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Experience reading basic drawings or blueprints

Travel Requirements

Approximately 70% of our work is local, primarily in Connecticut and the surrounding area. However, our company performs installations nationwide, so the successful candidate must be willing to travel.

Travel assignments may require being away from home for 1–2 weeks at a time. Travel expenses and company policies will be discussed during the hiring process.

Employment Opportunity
