We have an opening for an experienced Income Tax Specialist for our growing company. The Income Tax Specialist plays a key role in delivering high-quality tax preparation and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of individual and business clients. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns; research and manage complex tax issues; and ensure compliance with current regulations.
- Work closely with clients to identify tax-saving opportunities and provide strategic planning guidance.
- Manage tax accounting functions including GAAP compliance, double entry bookkeeping, and regulatory reporting.
- Reconcile accounts such as balance sheets, general ledger accounts, and bank statements using accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Analyze financial data for accuracy and completeness; interpret financial reports for management decision-making.
- Collaborate on financial report writing and interpretation to support strategic planning.
- Assist in budgeting processes and financial analysis related to investment and asset management activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of public accounting standards and other regulatory requirements affecting taxation and financial reporting.
Experience
- Must be a current CPA or EA located in Kansas.
- Proven experience in tax accounting and income tax preparation with a focus on corporate or non-profit sectors.
- Familiarity with accounting principles such as GAAP.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with financial software is essential.
- Proficiency in software programs such as Drake Tax and TaxDome preferred.
- Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and financial statement preparation.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex financial data through analysis skills and financial report writing.
- Excellent organizational skills combined with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
