The Opportunity
Broadmoor is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Project Management team in Shreveport. With an established backlog of work in Northwest Louisiana, this position offers an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on commercial construction experience, learn from experienced project leaders, and build a career in a market with potential for continued growth.
Position Summary
The Project Engineer supports the Project Management team in the day-to-day technical and administrative operations of assigned commercial construction projects. This role assists with contract administration, procurement, document control, financial and risk management, scheduling, quality control, and coordination with field operations from startup through completion and closeout. The Project Engineer reports to the assigned Project Manager and has no direct reports.
Qualifications
Education - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience - One or more years of professional experience in project management, field supervision, estimating, or preconstruction for a commercial general contractor or subcontractor.
Construction knowledge - Familiarity with project planning, scheduling, estimating, and commercial construction trades.
Technology - Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction project-management, estimating, and scheduling software.
Business skills - Solid math, budgeting, and financial-analysis skills, along with strong teamwork, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
Regional commitment - Ability to work from and support projects in the Shreveport / Northwest Louisiana market, including travel among regional jobsites as needed.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. The role regularly involves sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, using a computer, and occasionally lifting or moving office equipment up to 20 pounds. Work is performed in office and jobsite environments and may include outdoor work, inclement weather, water, dust, dirt, grease, fumes, chemicals, equipment noise, and vibration.
