Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Prepare journal entries, including debits & credits, for various accounting activities following GAAP standards.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to verify financial integrity.
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed.
- Support budgeting activities and prepare financial reports that summarize current financial position and trends.
- Ensure compliance with financial concepts, double entry bookkeeping principles, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of account activity.
- Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role within corporate or non-profit environments.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards if applicable.
- Demonstrated ability in bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management.
- Familiarity with technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, account analysis, and financial report writing.
- Experience handling accounts payable/receivable
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to bookkeeping practices is advantageous.
