What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Designer (Motion) position at Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI)?
POSITION SUMMARY: The BMI graphic designer will specialize in creating animated graphics, videos, and visual assets for the company’s multiple music genres, partnerships, and corporate initiatives. This role reports to BMI’s creative director and will work closely with the art director to develop assets focused on motion content for social media, websites, video, and other platforms.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions: Which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
- Responsible for the ideation and creation of graphics and animated assets for BMI, including the company’s Award Shows, event key art, social graphics, titles/end cards and video graphics, and more.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from initial concept to final delivery.
- Effectively communicate concepts and ideas to the Art Director and design team.
- Must understand and translate company’s brand strategy into quality design.
- Collaborate with various internal and external teams to ensure consistent workflow.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Regular attendance.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in motion design, graphic design, fine arts or related field.
Experience: 4 years' experience working in-house or at a design/advertising agency.
Skills and Abilities: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
- Strong skills with design software: Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, 3D/Cinema 4D and/or Figma a plus.
- Strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and composition.
- Understanding the implementation of design elements for live music, festivals, and entertainment.
- Passion for music, entertainment, and knowledge of current trends in graphic design, social media, and advertising.
- Must be flexible, detail-oriented, deadline driven, and a good collaborator.
- Strong Portfolio showcasing professional work is required.
