Chef – Behind the Bookcase (Ghost Kitchen)
We are looking for a talented and driven Chef to take the lead in our new ghost kitchen concept, Behind the Bookcase, located directly behind the British Open Pub. This is an exciting opportunity to run a unique, from-scratch kitchen with an eclectic menu designed for online ordering only.
Position Overview:
The Chef will be responsible for all aspects of kitchen operations, including prepping, cooking, menu execution, and daily production for delivery orders. Orders will come in exclusively through Toast, Uber Eats, and DoorDash.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage day-to-day operations of Behind the Bookcase’s ghost kitchen
- Prep and cook all menu items from scratch with consistency and attention to detail
- Ensure timely execution of orders for delivery platforms
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation
- Manage kitchen organization, cleanliness, and inventory control
- Collaborate with ownership to refine and evolve our eclectic menu
- 44 hour work week
Qualifications:
- Proven cooking and kitchen management experience
- Strong ability to work independently and efficiently
- Passion for eclectic, scratch-made food
- Knowledge of online ordering platforms (preferred, but training provided)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
