Job Title: Orthodontic Dental Assistant
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 5:00pm with a one hour lunch
Reports To: Office Manager
Location: Watertown, NY

Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies and equipment
- Greet and seat patients
- Evaluate patient oral hygiene and cooperation
- Take dental x-rays
- Take impressions scan and print images/photographs
- Prepare teeth for bonding
- Assist doctor with bonding
- Place and remove separators
- Initial seating of appliances
- Assist cementing bands and banded appliances
- Check for loose bands and brackets every appointment
- Remove, size and place archwires
- Chart procedures
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies and equipment
- Other duties may be assigned
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, parents, doctor, staff members and community.
- Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and parents both in person and on the telephone; pleasant telephone voice.
- Problem Solving
- Technical Skills: Use of computer, calculator
- Must have pleasant attitude to be a part of a dynamic team
Experience / Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred 1-2 years experience working in orthodontic / Dental office, must be proficient in taking digital radiographs and records.
- New York State Dental Assistant License a Plus
