What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Practical Nurse Instructor Day Program position at Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School?
Part time (0.5 FTE) position available in the practical nurse program. This position requires classroom, lab, and simulation teaching in the full day program as well as staff coverage for the evening program as needed. Hours will be scheduled to meet the demands of the curriculum and the needs of the students/program and follow the school year calendar.
A qualified candidate must meet the following criteria:
REGISTRATION: Hold a current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing
CERTIFICATION: Candidate must have or is working towards a Professional Licensure from
the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
EDUCATION: Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
Master’s degree in nursing preferred
EXPERIENCE: Possess a minimum of two years full-time experience in nursing, or its
equivalent, within the last five years and evidence of clinical competence in the
area(s) of clinical instruction
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include but not limited to instructs, supervises and evaluates students in nursing courses under the supervision of the program coordinator and in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the school, assumes responsibility for assigned courses including the development and maintenance of all course materials including the syllabus and outline and test construction and analysis, participates in the governance of the parent institution, participates in monthly faculty meetings for the purpose of evaluating the programs as well as student progress, provide clinical supervision for up to ten (10) practical nurse students per clinical group in clinical agencies, develop and maintain a safe classroom environment conducive to effective learning, employ a variety of instructional techniques to meet the needs of all students, assist in and be responsible for evaluating program effectiveness according to the program Systematic Evaluation Plan (SEP), communicates regularly with other nursing instructors to ensure program consistency and establish a collaborative relationship, and performs other duties as assigned by the Nursing Programs Coordinator.
Pay range: $50,692 - $119,014 – depending on nursing and Chapter 74 experience
