Description:Monday - Friday mornings and afternoons - split schedule hours TBD - Under 30 hours/weekBristol Adult Resource Center (BARC) is a non-profit organization supporting adult individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities by providing them with Residential, Vocational, Recreation and Day Support Services.BARC is currently seeking a professional and caring driver to assist our individuals transportation to and from their day programs. In this position, expect to make an impactful and meaningful difference in someone else’s life every day. Applicants with no experience or seeking a career change are encouraged to apply – we will train the right candidates.Requirements:Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.At least age 18.Valid driver’s license, clean driving record going back three years and reliable transportation to arrive to work.Must be able to obtain Public Passenger Endorsement (PPE) license within 30 days of hire.Very punctual and strong time management skills.Benefits:Paid time off.401K and Roth retirement plans with matching.Employee Assistance Program, including mental health, financial, personal growth resources and more.Opportunities for growth.Referral Program.Paid training and education including required CPR and PMT.Staff recognition and appreciation.Responsibilities:Provide opportunities for learning new skills and independence by working on individuals’ goals and plans.Serves as an advocate for all individuals served.Must obtain Public Passenger Endorsement license and have the ability to drive all agency vehicles.Must have the ability to lift equipment, supplies and assist individuals as needed.Assist staff in preparing individuals for their transport and assist staff with the transferring and safely securing individuals in the vehicles.Safely take care of individuals while on transport.Safely and effectively take care of vehicle problems and/or road emergencies should any occur while on transport.Vehicle maintenance, e.g., cleaning, servicing, all DMV and State inspections, and quarterly safety checkups.Maintain vehicle logs and vehicle-related records.Report to the assigned Manager any concerns with individuals and/or vehicles that occur during transport.Follow all BARC transportation policies/guidelines and driving laws.Provide safe and nurturing environment where Individuals are treated with dignity, respect, can exercise their rights and responsibilities and are protected from abuse or neglect.Electronically record daily activities maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect the identity, medical, HIPPA information.Deliver mail to various job locations.Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).Perform other duties as assigned.Physical Efforts:Able to reach and bend to assist individuals.Positions may require the ability to independently lift at least 25 pounds, push/pull varying weight (wheelchairs) or have to safely transfer ~35 pounds.
